Ingredients:
100g dried taro leaves (dahon ng gabi), finely chopped 2 1/2 inches ginger root (luya) cut into strips 1 onion, diced 5-6 cloves garlic, minced 2 cans coconut milk (about 4 cups) 1-2 cups water salt & pepper to taste oil for sautéing 1 pork cube Magic sarap or Ginisa mix (optional) Shrimp or pork or dried dilis or daing (your choice) Chilli pepper (sili labuyo), optional Procedures: 1. Soak the taro leaves in water for 30 minutes and drain the water. Set aside. 2. Heat up a pan with a few drops of oil. Sauté garlic, onion and ginger till soft and brown. 3. Add pork and continue frying till golden brown. (Note: if you will use pork only) 4. Add the coconut milk, water, pork cube, magic sarap (optional) and bring to boil on a medium heat. Add gabi/taro leaves and soak it well. Cover it and let it simmer for 20 minutes. 5. After 20 minutes, you can now add the shrimps (if you are using the shrimps). Add salt & pepper according to your taste and the chilli pepper (sili). Continue to simmer for another 10 minutes or till the coconut milk dries up. 8. Turn off the heat and serve with rice. Enjoy!
