Filipino Style Spaghetti
Ingredients:
500g mince pork
500g mince beef
500g hotdogs or luncheon meat, sliced
2x 500g Filipino Style Spaghetti sauce
1 cup grated cheese
1 onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
salt & pepper to taste
320g tamis-anghang banana ketchup
oil for sautéing
1kg spaghetti noodles
1/4 cup condensed milk (optional to add a bit of sweetness)
Procedure:
1. Pre-heat the pan with oil. Sauté garlic and onion till soft & tender. Add mince pork and mince beef, sauté till golden brown for about 10-15 minutes. Make sure to loosen up the mince meat well.
2. Add the spaghetti sauce and stir it well. Simmer for 15 minutes on a medium heat, don’t forget to stir occasionally.
3. After minutes, the sauce will be thick. Adjust the taste by adding salt & pepper according to your taste. You can add condensed milk (optional) to add sweetness if you prefer it a little bit more sweeter.
4. Add banana ketchup, grated cheese and hotdogs. Stir it well and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes or till you reached the desired thickness. Remove from the heat.
5. In a large sauce pan, boil water and add a few drops of oil and 1 tsp. salt. Once boiling, drop the spaghetti noodles and cook it according to the instructions in the packaging. Stir well for a few minutes to loosen up the noodles. Then stir occasionally till cooked. Note: Do not over-cook the noodles, normally the noodles will become elastic once cooked.
6. Drain the water out and run the cold water to cool down the noodles completely. Drain the excess water and add a little drops of oil and mix it to prevent the noodles to stick together.
7. Combine the noodles and sauce accordingly then ready to serve. Enjoy!
