1kg Chicken portions

1 Onion, chopped

5-6 cloves Garlic, minced

2 inches Ginger root sliced into strips

4-5 cups water

1 Chicken cube

1-2 Sayote or Green papaya, sliced

1 cup dahon ng sili or spinach

Fish sauce to taste

Oil for sautéing


1. Pre-heat a pan with oil. Saute garlic and onion until tender then add the ginger strips. Add chicken and cook till golden brown.

2. Add water and simmer the chicken for 20 to 30 minutes on a medium-low heat. 

3. Add the sayote or green papaya. Continue simmering for another 10 minutes. Season with fish sauce adjust according to your taste. Add the dahon ng sili or spinach. Continue to simmer for another minute. Turn of the heat and ready to serve.
