Ginataang Tilapia


3x medium size tilapia cut into 2

1 can coconut milk

1 medium onion, chopped

5 cloves garlic, mince

1 1/2 in. ginger cut into strips

salt & pepper to taste

cooking oil for frying

spring onions, chopped for garnishing

1 green chilli pepper (optional)


1. Put salt in tilapia and fry it till cooked and golden brown. Set aside.

2. In a pan, sauté garlic, onion and ginger then pour the coconut milk. Let it simmer till the coconut milk is thick like a sauce. Season with salt & pepper then add the fried tilapia and the green chilli pepper (optional). Wait till the tilapia absorb the coconut milk. Add the spring onion.

3. When the sauce is thick & oil comes out from the coconut milk, turn off the heat. Serve in a plate and best serve with steamed rice. Enjoy!
