Seafood Caldereta


1/4 kg Squid

1/4 kg Shrimp

1/4 kg Tahong

3-4 pcs. Crabs, cut in halves

1 cup Del Monte Tomato Sauce

2 – 3 cups Water

1 Onion, chopped

4-5 cloves garlic, minced

1 Tomato, sliced

2 tbsp. Soy sauce (adjust according to your taste)

1/2 tsp. Pepper

1/4 cup Liver, boiled and minced

1 can Liver spread

1/2 cup Pitted Olives (or more)

1/2 grated Cheddar cheese

Bell pepper sliced into strips

Margarine for sautéing

1 tbsp. Cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp. water to thicken the sauce (optional)


1) Pre-heat oil in a pan. Sauté garlic and onions till sift and translucent.

2) Add tomato sauce, water, minced liver, liver spread and grated cheese. Simmer till the sauce thickens a bit.

3) Season with soy sauce and pepper according to your taste.

4) Add crabs and tahong. Simmer for 1 minute. Then add shrimp, squid, pitted olives and bell pepper. Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Simmer for another 2 – 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and ready to serve. Enjoy it with rice.
