Pastillas, also known as Pastillas de Leche or Pastiyema is a milk-based confectionery (cadies) with origins in the town of San Miguel in Bulacan, Philippines.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Condensed Milk
  • 2 1/2 cups Powdered Skimmed milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Melted Butter
  •  

Optional Flavours:

  • 1 tbsp. Ube flavouring
  • Langka
  • Mango
  •  

Instructions

  • Transfer the condensed milk in a mixing bowl. Add the ube flavouring, and butter and mix it well. Then add the powdered milk and mix thoroughly till it is dough-like consistency and until the mixture is well-binded. You can add more powdered milk if the mixture is very sticky or runny.
  • Dab your hands with oil then scoop about 1 tbsp. of pastillas. Flatten the pastillas between your palms then place 1 marsmallow and seal the pastillas to cover the marsmallow.
  • Roll the pastimallows in sugar. Continue the procedure till the pastillas and mallows are done.
  • Place the pastimallows in small cupcake case and ready to serve. Enjoy!
